Pears Helene Recipe
Ingredients
| 4 pears, peeled and cored | ||
| Water | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Vanilla extract | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Vanilla Ice Cream | 1 1/2 Pint | |
| Fudge Sauce | ||
Directions
Cut pears into halves lengthwise.
Boil water and sugar together for 5 minutes.
Stir in vanilla.
Add pears and simmer over low heat for 5 to 10 minutes, depending on quality and ripeness of fruit.
Cool pears in syrup; drain.
At serving time, place ice cream in glass serving dish.
Arrange pears on it and sprinkle with nuts, if desired.
Pass Fudge Sauce separately.
