5-6 cups sliced fresh pears
 
1/2 cup sugar
 
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
 
3 tablespoons lemon juice
 
1 9inch unbaked pie shell
 
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
 
1/2 cup sugar
 
1/2 teaspoon ginger
 
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
 
1/4 teaspoon mace
 
1/3 cup butter Whipped cream

Directions

Combine sliced pears with 1/2 cup sugar, lemon peel, and lemon juice.
Turn into unbaked pie shell.
To make the topping, combine the whole wheat flour, sugar, and spices.
Cut in butter until crumbly.
Sprinkle mixture over pears.
Bake in a 400° F.Oven for 45 minutes or until pears are tender.
Serve warm with sweetened whipped cream.
