Pear Crumble Pie Recipe
Ingredients
| Pears | 6 Medium | |
| Sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Lemon peel | 1 Teaspoon, grated | |
| 3 tablespoons lemon juice 9-inch unbaked pastry shell | ||
| 1/2 cup each flour and sugar | ||
| 1/2 teaspoon each ginger and cinnamon | ||
| Mace | 1/4 Teaspoon (Topping) | |
| Butter | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) (Topping) | |
| Whipping cream | 1/2 Pint, flavored (Topping) | |
Directions
Peel, halve, core, and slice pears, and toss them lightly with the 1/2 cup sugar and the lemon peel and juice.
Arrange in unbaked pastry shell.
For the topping combine flour, sugar, ginger, cinnamon, and mace; cut in butter until crumbly.
Sprinkle mixture over the pears.
Bake in a hot oven (400°) for 45 minutes, or until the fruit is tender.
