 Pears6 Medium
 Sugar1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Lemon peel1 Teaspoon, grated
 3 tablespoons lemon juice 9-inch unbaked pastry shell
 1/2 cup each flour and sugar
 1/2 teaspoon each ginger and cinnamon
 Mace1/4 Teaspoon (Topping)
 Butter1/3 Cup (16 tbs) (Topping)
 Whipping cream1/2 Pint, flavored (Topping)

Directions

Peel, halve, core, and slice pears, and toss them lightly with the 1/2 cup sugar and the lemon peel and juice.
Arrange in unbaked pastry shell.
For the topping combine flour, sugar, ginger, cinnamon, and mace; cut in butter until crumbly.
Sprinkle mixture over the pears.
Bake in a hot oven (400°) for 45 minutes, or until the fruit is tender.
