Peanut Butter Divinity Recipe

Ingredients
Light corn syrup - 1 cup
Sugar - 3 cups
Water - 1 cup
Peanut butter - 1 cup
Dash of salt
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Heavily grease a waxed paper.
MAKING
2) In a saucepan, mix together sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt.
3) Place over medium heat and stir to a boil.
4) Cover the pan and lower the heat.
5) Allow to cook for 3 minutes.
6) Uncover the pan and raise heat to medium.
7) Cook till the syrup begins to spin a thread.
8) In a bowl, beat the egg whites till stiff.
9) Pour half the syrup into the egg whites in a fine stream, while beating constantly.
10) Place the remaining syrup back over the heat.
11) Allow to cook to a firm-ball stage.
12) Pour the syrup into the egg white mix, beating till creamy.
13) Pour out the candy onto the greased waxed paper.
14) Set aside till firm.
15) Using cold water, moisten hands and pat the candy till about 3/4 inch thick.
16) Spread peanut butter over the candy.
17) Roll as for a jelly roll.
18) Cut in slices.
