Directions

Cream shortening and peanut butter, gradually add 1/2 cup sugar and brown sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
Add egg, milk, and vanilla, beat well.
Combine flour, soda, and salt, add to creamed mixture.
Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then roll in 1/4 cup sugar.
Place balls 2 inches apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375° for 8 minutes.
Remove from oven, press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
Return to oven for an additional 2 minutes or until lightly browned.

as i was tasting the dough they were not very peanutty as i would like. so i doubled the amount of peanut butter and they still are not as peanutty as i would like. it may have something to do with the fact that i used butter flavored shortening. dont get me wrong they are good.
