Ingredients

 Cubed beef stew meat - 1 pound
 Onion1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
 Shortening1 Tablespoon
 Salt1 Teaspoon
 Pepper1/8 Teaspoon
 Garlic powder1 Dash
 Ground nutmeg - Dash
 Ground ginger - Dash
 Ground cloves - Dash
 Paprika - Dash
 Whole tomatoes - 1 can (8-ounce) (1 cup) , cut up
 Peanuts1/2 Cup (16 tbs), finely chopped
 Evaporated milk - 1 can ( 6-ounce) (2/3 cup)
 Cornstarch1 Teaspoon

Directions

MAKING
1.Take a 3 quart saucepan, heat shortening in it and cook meat and onions in it until brown.
2.Stir in 1 1/2 cups water, salt, pepper, garlic powder, nutmeg, ginger, cloves and paprika.
3.Simmer for 1 hour by putting the lid on until the meat turns soft.
4.Stir in peanuts and tomatoes.
5.Combine evaporated milk with cornstarch and blend well.
6.Add cornstarch mix to the soup and let the soup mixture boil.
7.Keep stirring.

SERVING
8.Serve warm in bowls.
