 1/2 cup chunk-style peanut butter
 Shortening1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Sugar1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Egg1
 Milk2 Tablespoon
 Enriched flour1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), sifted
 Soda1 Teaspoon
 Salt1/2 Teaspoon

Directions

Cream together peanut butter, shortening; gradually add sugar; mix thoroughly; beat in egg and milk.
Sift together flour, soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture.
Shape in balls, using rounded teaspoon of dough for each.
Flatten on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake at 375° 10 to 12 minutes.
Cool.
Add enough milk to 1 cup sifted confectioners' sugar to make of spreading consistency.
Tint orange with a little red and yellow food coloring; spread on flat sides of 2 cookies; sandwich together.
Make faces with semisweet chocolate pieces.
Stick peanut half in top for stem.
