Peach Shortcake Recipe

3-lb. pared peaches, sliced
1 c. (packed) light brown sugar
1/2 c. lemon juice
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 1/3 c. sifted all- purpose flour
1 1/4 c. shortening

Directions
"Combine peaches, brown sugar and lemon juice; chill for 1 hour.
Mix salt and flour in bowl; cut in shortening with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
