Peach Pie Recipe

The peach pie is a family favorite that I bake most during the long hot summer. Made with peaches and flavored with cinnamon and nutmeg, the peach pie is fruity and light and perfect for the summer when served with a dollop of ice cream.

Ingredients

 
Pastry for 9-inch lattice top pie
 
3/4 cup sugar
 
3 tablespoons enriched flour
 
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg or cinnamon
 
Dash salt
 
5 cups sliced fresh peaches
 
2 tablespoons butter or margarine

Directions

Line 9 inch pie plate with pastry.
Combine sugar, flour, spice, and salt.
Add to peaches; mix lightly.
Fill pastry.
Dot with butter.(Sprinkle with extra spice, if desired.)
Adjust lattice crust; crimp edges.
Bake in hot oven (400°) 40 to 45 minutes or till done.
Serve warm with cream or ice cream.
