water
 
vanilla ice cream

Directions

Cut up yellow peaches (after peeling) and dis- card stones.
To every lb.
of cut up peaches, allow a pint-and-a-half of water.
Boil for 30 minutes over a moderate heat, then strain, reserving water.
Measure, and for every 3 cups water, allow 1 cup sugar.
Boil for 5 mins.
Strain again.
Chill.
To serve, fill glass three-quarters full with the syrup and top each glass with a heaped tblspn.
