Peach Cherry Jubilee Recipe

Ingredients
1 can (1 lb. 13 oz.) peach halves
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 can (1 lb. 4 oz.) pitted dark cherries
1 glass (10 oz.) currant jelly
1/2 cup brandy or kirsch
1 quart vanilla ice cream
Directions
Turn the peaches, with their syrup, into a pan; add vanilla.
Bring to a boil, and simmer 2 or 3 minutes.
Lift peaches from syrup to a bowl to take to the table.
Drain cherries and put into a bowl.
At the table heat jelly in a chafing dish.
Add cherries and peaches; spoon melted jelly over peaches as they heat through.
To flame the dessert, pour warmed brandy into center; light immediately.
