Pavlova Recipe

A large meringue cake that can be topped with whipped cream and fruit. This is an Australian specialty.

Ingredients

 Egg whites4
 White sugar1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Salt1/8 Teaspoon
 Malt vinegar1 Tablespoon
 Vanilla extract1 Teaspoon

Directions

Preheat oven to 150 degrees F (65 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Trace around a 9 or 10 inch round pan onto the paper to make a guide for spreading the meringue.
In a large glass or metal mixing bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. Gradually add sugar. When mixture is stiff and sugar appears to be dissolved, add the vinegar and vanilla.
Spread mixture onto parchment paper, using the circular guide. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.

People we need to stop arguing about the AUSTRALIAN dessert and look at the recipe, this is the worst recipe( not written very well), whoever wrote it needs to edit it, unless you keep the vinegar and the vanilla, for another recipe or maybe decoration, also the eggs need to be beaten till peaks appear, and then add the vinegar and the vanilla.

I think, none of us can be 100% sure of the place where the dessert actually originated, as it has always been a topic of debate. Australian would love to call it theirs, where as New Zealnd vouches on it being their specialty. I don think, for a true food lover, it really doesn't matter at all! Just enjoy the dessert, that's all! :)

When my sister lived in New Zealand, she learned the fine art of making Pavlova. It just melt in your mouth! I like to use kiwi fruit and strawberries to decorate mine!
