Pastry Twists Recipe

|Cold water/Beer||3 Tablespoon|

Cut in butter or margarine till pieces are the size of small peas.
Stir in Cheddar cheese.
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of the beer or water over part of the dry mixture; gently toss with a fork.
Push to side of bowl.
Repeat till all is moistened.
Form the dough into a ball; flatten ball of dough with your hands.
Divide in half, then divide each half into 12 portions, making 24 portions total.
On a lightly floured surface roll each portion of dough into a rope 11 inches long.
To shape each twist, cut a rope in half.
Pinch ends together; twist the 2 halves together.
Tuck ends under.
Place on an un-greased baking sheet.
Brush lightly with additional beer or milk; sprinkle with sesame or poppy seed, if desired.
Repeat with remaining ropes of dough.
Bake in a 425° oven for 10 to 12 minutes or till golden brown.
Remove and cool on wire racks.
Transfer to a freezer container or bags.
Seal, label, and freeze.
To serve, place frozen pastry twists on an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake in a 350° oven for 5 to 7 minutes or till twists are warm.
