1 1/2 cups pasta shells
 
3 3/4 cups boiling water
 
1 teaspoon salt
 
1 tablespoon oil
 
Bolognese Sauce
 
1 tablespoon oil
 
4 fatty bacon slices, rind removed, and chopped
 
1 onion, finely chopped
 
2 cups lean ground beef
 
1/2 cup chopped mushrooms
 
1 teaspoon chopped parsley
 
2 beef bouillon cubes, crumbled
 
1 teaspoon French mustard
 
1 teaspoon dried oregano
 
1 x 8 oz can tomatoes, chopped
 
3 tablespoons tomato paste
 
1 wine glass red wine
 
Salt and pepper
 
Garnish:
 
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

1 Place the pasta in a 1.75 litre/3 pint (7'/2 cup) ovenproof glass mixing bowl. Pour over the boiling water.
2 Add salt and oil, cover with plastic wrap, and pierce. Microwave on full power for 10 minutes.
3 Remove from microwave oven, stir. Allow to stand, covered with a clean tea (dish) towel, for 5 minutes. Drain. Bolognese Sauce
4 Preheat a browning dish without its lid: 3 minutes on full power for the small size: 5 minutes on full power for the large size.
5 Stir in the oil, bacon and onion. Cover with lid and microwave on full power for 3 minutes
6 Add the minced beef and stir. Microwave on full power for 3 minutes.
7 Add all the remaining ingredients and stir well. Microwave on power 4 for 20 minutes, covered with the lid.
8 Arrange the drained pasta on a serving dish and pour the sauce over. Sprinkle with grated cheese and serve.
