Pasta Alla Bolognese Recipe

Ingredients
1 lb (455 g) lean ground beef
1 lb (455 g) mild Italian sausage
1 cup (240 ml) chopped onion
1/2 cup (120 ml) finely shredded carrot
1/2 cup (120 ml) chopped celery
3 cloves garlic, minced
28-oz can (840 g) Organic Whole Peeled Tomatoes, undrained
15-oz can (450 g) Organic Tomato Sauce
1/2 cup (120 ml) dry red wine
1/4 cup (60 ml) chopped fresh parsley
1 1/2 tsp (8 ml) basil leaves, crushed
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp (3 ml) salt
1/4 tsp (1 ml) pepper
2 lb (910 g) cooked shells, penne or rigatoni, hot
Directions
In large saucepan over medium heat, cook ground beef, sausage, onion, carrot, celery and garlic until meat is browned.
Drain.
Stir in whole peeled tomatoes, tomato sauce, wine, parsley, basil, oregano, salt and pepper.
Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, 40-45 minutes, or until thickened.
