Party Rye Appetizers Recipe
Ingredients
1 pound bulk pork sausage
1 pound process cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes
2 tablespoons catsup
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon dried whole oregano
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
2 (8-ounce) loaves party rye bread
Directions
Brown sausage in a heavy skillet, drain well.
Place cheese in a heavy saucepan over low heat, stir frequently until cheese melts.
Add sausage, catsup, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, and garlic powder, mix well.
Spread about 2 teaspoons of sausage mixture on each bread slice.
Bake on an ungreased baking sheet at 375° for 10 minutes.
To freeze, place unbaked slices on baking sheets, and place uncovered in freezer until frozen.
Remove from baking sheets, and store in an airtight container in freezer.
To serve, place on ungreased baking sheets.
