Party Mints With Royal Icing Recipe
Ingredients
| Sugar | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 tablespoons white Karo syrup | ||
| Oil of peppermint | ||
| Salt | 1 Pinch | |
| Cold water | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cream of tartar | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Put sugar, syrup, salt, and water in top of double boiler.
When it starts to boil add 1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar.
Let boil until soft-ball stage is reached.
Take up, place vessel in cold pan of water and start beating with electric mixer until creamy.
Then add 3 or 4 drops of peppermint.
Return vessel to hot water and let melt.
Drop mixture by teaspoonfuls on waxed paper.
This makes a pretty flat mint to be decorated with this
