Parsnips In Tomato Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 No. 2 1/2 can tomatoes | ||
| Salt | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Bay Leaf | 1 | |
| Celery | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), diced | |
| Sugar | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Onion | 1 Medium, diced | |
| Whole Cloves | 3 | |
| Parsnips | 2 Pound, peeled | |
Directions
Combine tomatoes, salt, bay leaf, celery, sugar, pep- per, onion and cloves; simmer, covered, for 30 min- utes.
Cut parsnips crosswise into 3/8-inch thick slices; cook in small amount of water for 30 minutes or until tender.
Drain thoroughly.
Add parsnips to tomato mixture; simmer for 10 minutes.
