 1 No. 2 1/2 can tomatoes
 Salt1 1/2 Teaspoon
 Bay Leaf1
 Celery1/2 Cup (16 tbs), diced
 Sugar1 Teaspoon
 Pepper1/8 Teaspoon
 Onion1 Medium, diced
 Whole Cloves3
 Parsnips2 Pound, peeled

Directions

Combine tomatoes, salt, bay leaf, celery, sugar, pepper, onion and cloves; simmer, covered, for 30 minutes.
Cut parsnips crosswise into 3/8-inch thick slices; cook in small amount of water for 30 minutes or until tender.
Drain thoroughly.
Add parsnips to tomato mixture; simmer for 10 minutes
