Paradise Pie Recipe

Ingredients
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
6 large apples
3/4cup sugar
1 tablespoon red cinnamon candies
4 tablespoons orange juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon grated lemon rind
1 9-inch baked pie shell
1 cup whipped cream
1/4 cup chopped nuts
Directions
Wash, pare and core apples.
Cut each apple in eight sections.
Arrange in a large saucepan, add the sugar, cinnamon candies and enough water to just cover apples.
Simmer until tender, turning often.
Remove apples and place in a dish.
To the re- maining syrup in the saucepan add orange juice, lemon juice and lemon rind.
Simmer until syrup is thick.
Pour over apples and let stand until cool.
Arrange apple sections in the baked pie shell.
Chill thoroughly.
Garnish with whipped cream and nuts before serving.
Makes one 9-inch pie.
