Paprika Goulash Recipe
Over the years I have mastered the art of making Paprika Goulash which I was taught by my family elders. It is always prepared with Beef as the most essential ingredient. If it is an impressive Appetizer that you require, then this dish is the answer. Do try out this great Paprika Goulash recipe.
Ingredients
1 large onion, diced
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon bacon drippings
3 pounds fresh beef brisket, cut in 1-inch cubes
1/4 pound calf liver, cut in 1/2 -inch-wide strips
2 teaspoons Hungarian paprika or regular paprika
1 tablespoon flour
1 cup condensed beef consomme
1 medium-sized green pepper, minced
2 1/2 cups diced, hot cooked potatoes
2 medium-sized tomatoes, peeled, seeded, and diced
Directions
In a large, heavy pan, lightly brown onion in butter and bacon drippings.
Add brisket and liver and brown on all sides.
Sprinkle with paprika and flour, and blend in consomme.
Cover and simmer very slowly for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Remove liver and mince, then return to pan along with green pepper.
Simmer 1 hour longer, or until meat is tender.
Add potatoes and tomatoes, heat through.
