Paper (Parchment) Wrapped Chicken Recipe
Paper (Parchment) Wrapped Chicken is a popular and authentic Chinese appetizer. The cooked and fried chicken within the paper is a wonderful treat for your tastebuds. Serve the Paper (Parchment) Wrapped Chicken for a party at home and watch your guests getting addicted to it.
Ingredients
| Scallions | 2 | |
| Ginger | 1 Ounce | |
| Soy sauce | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Sherry | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Pinch of brown sugar | ||
| Salt | 1 Pinch | |
| Black pepper | 1 Pinch | |
| Chicken meat | 1 Pound | |
| Deep fat for frying | ||
Directions
Chop the spring onions (scallions) very finely; chop the ginger and mix with the spring onions (scallions), soy sauce, sherry, sugar, salt and pepper.
Cut the chicken meat into about 16 slices and toss in the soy sauce mixture.
Leave covered for 30 minutes.
Cut out 16 squares of cellophane paper (parchment).
Do not use polythene wrapping as this will melt on contact with hot fat.
Wrap each piece of chicken in a piece of cellophane (parchment) and secure.
Drop the parcels in hot fat and fry for about 3 minutes.
Drain.
