Paper Bag Apple Pie Recipe
Ingredients
1 unbaked 9-inch pastry shell
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
3 or 4 large apples
1/2 cup sugar for topping
1/2 cup sugar for filling
1/2 cup flour for topping
2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 cup margarine for topping
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Directions
Pare and slice apples; place in large bowl.
Make filling by combining sugar, flour and nutmeg with apples.
Spoon into pastry shell.
Drizzle with lemon juice.
Combine 1/2 cup sugar and flour; cut in margarine.
Sprinkle mixture over pie, covering entire top.
Slide into paper bag large enough to cover pie loosely.
Fold over open end twice; fasten with paper clips.
Place on large cookie sheet for easy handling.
Bake at 425° for 1 hour.
Carefully slit bag open to avoid steam burns.
Cool on wire rack.
