Paneer Tikka Recipe
Paneer tikka is a vegetarian tikka preparation of cottage cheese. The paneer or cottage cheese are marinated in a spicy blend of garam masala, red chilies and curd with gram flour. Cooked on the grill, the paneer tikka have a brilliant flavor to them and can be sprinkled with lemon juice and chaat masala before serving.
Ingredients
750 gms Paneer (cut into 1.5" cubes)
200 gms Hung Curd (lightly beaten)
Salt to taste
1.5 Tsp. Red Chillie powder
1.5 Tsp. Garam Masala powder
A pinch of Tandoori colour (optional)
2 Tbsp. Gram flour
Oil for brushing
Directions
Mix the curd, salt, red chillie powder, garam masala powder and gram flour.
Add the tandoori colour (optional).
Mix well.
Add the paneer cubes.
Mix, cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours.
Place the paneer cubes on the high rack, brush with a little oil and grill for 15-20 minutes till golden brown on all sides.
Reposition the paneer pieces frequently for even cooking and brush with little oil each time.
Sprinkle with chat masala and lemon juice, if desired.
Add the tandoori colour (optional).
Mix well.
Add the paneer cubes.
