Panch Phoron Tarkari Recipe
This Panch Phoron Tarkari is truly delicious ! Panch Phoron consisting of five traditional seasonings is a curry mix that is used for flavoring many of the traditional as well as modern curries (taarkaris). Try this with a bowl of hot rice or Indian breads and let me know if you like them !
Ingredients
| Gym pumpkin, dims 150 pieces | ||
| Potatoes | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), diced | |
| Large diced brinjal 1 cup | ||
| Large dry and slit chillies 2-3 pieces | ||
| Cooking oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Fenugreek seeds | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Aniseeds | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Mustard seeds | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Cumin seeds | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Bay leaves pieces | 2 | |
| Green chillies pieces | 2 , chopped | |
| Turmeric powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Milk | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Water as required | ||
| Sugar | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
Directions
Thoroughly fry the spices till they turn brown.
Add vegetables to the spices and mix well.
Now add the tastemakers, the salt, sugar, green chillies and turmeric and mix them carefully.
Add sufficient water and milk to the ingredients.
Simmer till the vegetables are tender and the water gets absorbed.
