Palaanum Recipe
Ingredients
| Coconuts | 2 (For 12) | |
| Fish or prawns 1 kg. | ||
| Onions | 340 Gram (For 12) | |
| Turmeric | 1/4 Teaspoon (For 12) | |
| Fenugreek | 1 Teaspoon (For 12) | |
| Green chillies | 8 (For 12) | |
| Ginger 2.5 cm, (1") piece | ||
| Salt | To Taste (For 12) | |
| Lime | 1 (For 12) | |
Directions
1. Grate coconut. Extract coconut milk, the first extraction thick, the second with 150 ml. of water, and the third with 300 ml. of water. Set aside.
2. Scale, clean and wash fish well. (Shell and wash prawns. Remove intestines.) Cut into 2.5 cm. (1") slices-Slice onions.
3. Put into a pan the second and third extractions of coconut milk, turmeric, fenugreek, slit green chillies, sliced onions, ginger, fish, salt and curry leaves. Bring to boil and simmer till fish is done.
4. Add first extraction of coconut milk and lime juice. Remove from fire.
