Pad Ga Prao Part 1 Recipe Video
Ingredients
| Garlic clove | 1 Tablespoon, chopped finely | |
| Thai chilies | 3 Medium | |
| Prik chee fah | 3 Medium (any mild red chili peppers such as bell peppers or Anaheim peppers) | |
| String beans | 4 Medium, cut into 1 inch pieces on bias | |
| Onion | 1⁄2 Small, julienned | |
| Chicken thigh/Ground chicken | 1 Pound, skinned and cut into pieces | |
| Fish sauce | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Soy sauce | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Sugar | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Holy basil | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
| Egg | 1 Medium | |
| Ga prao leaves | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Vegetable oil | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |

| Prik nam pla | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1. Using a sharp knife cut the onion in juliennes and string beans in 1 inch pieces on bias.
2. In a mortar and pestle, place together garlic and Thai chilles and pound to a paste.
3. Using a cleaver, mince the chicken thighs coarsely, and set aside.
MAKING
4. In a wok, heat oil and break in the egg, allow it to fry until the yolk is cooked to desired doneness and edges are browned, while cooking spoon hot oil over the egg.
5. Using a slotted spoon, remove the egg and drain on a paper towel.
6. In a wok, heat 1 tablespoon of oil, and add in garlic and chilli mixture and saute for 2 minutes or until the garlic starts to brown.
7. Add in the chicken, vegetables, fish sauce, sugar and soy sauce and cook for 5 to 8 minutes stirring continuously or until the chicken cooks.
FINALIZING
8. Add in the ga prao leaves and stir well, and cook for about 2 minutes and turn off the heat.
9. In a serving plate portion the Thai Basil Chicken and top with fried egg.
SERVING
10. Serve hot garnished with Ga prao leaf and with Prik Nam pla on side.
