Oysters Farcis Recipe
Oysters Farcis is a savory baked seafood recipe. Prepared with shallots, celery and breadcrumbs, the oysters Farcis is flavored with parsley. Baked in the oven with butter to taste, the oysters farcis is easy and delicious!
Ingredients
3 dozen oysters
1 tablespoon flour
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
1 cup shallots, chopped fine
Salt
Cayenne
1 cup parsley, chopped fine
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 cup celery, chopped fine
6 large oyster shells
Directions
Heat oysters in their liquor until edges begin to curl.
Drain and cut into small pieces.
Set aside.
Melt butter in a saucepan.
Stir in shallots, parsley, and celery and cook over a low heat until limp.
Blend in flour until smooth, then add 1/2 cup of the bread crumbs and the chopped oysters.
Remove from heat, season with salt and cayenne, and stir in the egg.
Cool, then spoon into shells.
Sprinkle with remaining crumbs and dot with additional butter.
Just before serving, place in a preheated 450° oven 8 to 10 minutes or until brown.
