Oysters A La King Recipe
Ingredients
| Oysters | 1 Pint | |
| 2 1/2 cups milk and oyster liquor | ||
| Mushrooms | 1/2 pound, sliced | |
| Butter | 4 Tablespoon | |
| Flour | 4 Tablespoon | |
| Green pepper | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Pimiento | 2 Tablespoon, minced | |
| Salt | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Dash nutmeg | ||
Directions
1. Simmer oysters in their own liquor for 5 minutes.
2. Drain thoroughly; reserve liquid.
3. To this liquid add enough milk to make 2 1/2 cups.
4. Saute mushrooms in butter for 5 minutes.
5. Stir in flour, then add remaining ingredients, except oysters.
6. Simmer until thick.
7. Add oysters.
8. Serve on buttered toast.
