Oven Crunchy French Toast Recipe
Ingredients
1/4 cup margarine or butter
3 tablespoons wheat germ
1/2 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons honey
4 eggs
12 slices French bread, each 1 inch thick
2 tablespoons wheat germ
Directions
Heat margarine in jelly roll pan, 15 1/2X 10 1/2 X 1 inch, in 450° oven until melted; sprinkle 3 tablespoons wheat germ evenly over margarine.
Beat orange juice, honey and eggs with hand beater until foamy.
Dip bread into egg mixture; place in pan.
Drizzle any remaining egg mixture over bread.
Sprinkle 2 tablespoons wheat germ evenly over bread.
Bake until bottoms are golden brown, about 10 minutes.
Turn bread; bake until bottoms are golden brown, 6 to 8 minutes longer.
