Ingredients

 
1 8-ounce package brown-and-serve sausage links
 
1 cup all-purpose flour
 
2 tablespoons sugar
 
1 tablespoon baking powder
 
1/2 teaspoon salt
 
1 beaten egg
 
3/4 cup milk
 
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
 
Maple-flavored syrup

Directions

Cut sausage links in half lengthwise.
Brown the sausages in a skillet.
Drain thoroughly and set aside.
Thoroughly stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Combine beaten egg, milk, and melted butter or margarine; add all at once to dry ingredients, beating till smooth.
Turn batter into a greased and floured 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch baking pan, spreading the batter to edges of pan.
Arrange the sausage halves, cut side down, atop batter in pan.
Bake at 425° about 15 minutes.
