Oven Barbecued Spareribs Recipe
Ingredients
| 4 lb pork spareribs | ||
| Ground pepper | 1 To taste | |
| Vegetable oil | 2 Tablespoon (For Zesty Barbecue :) | |
| Onion | 1 Large, finely chopped (For Zesty Barbecue :) | |
| 1/4 cup lightly packed brown sugar | ||
| Ketchup | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) (For Zesty Barbecue :) | |
| Lemon juice | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) (For Zesty Barbecue :) | |
| Worcestershire sauce | 1 Tablespoon (For Zesty Barbecue :) | |
| Dijon Mustard | 1 Tablespoon (For Zesty Barbecue :) | |
| Chili powder | 1 Teaspoon (For Zesty Barbecue :) | |
| Cayenne pepper | 1 Pinch (For Zesty Barbecue :) | |
Directions
In small saucepan, heat oil; cook onion until softened but not browned.
Stir in brown sugar and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until sugar has dissolved
Remove from heat and stir in ketchup, lemon juice, Worcestershire, mustard, chili powder and cayenne.
In roasting pan, place ribs meat side up and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
Bake in 400 °F (200 °C) oven for 30 minutes.
Drain fat from pan and pour Zesty Barbecue Sauce over ribs.
Cover and bake in 350°F (180°C) oven for 1 hour longer, basting occasionally with sauce.
