Ingredients
1/2 c. soy sauce
1/2 c. catsup
3 tbsp. (packed) brown sugar
2 tsp. ginger
3 lb. spareribs
1 tsp. monosodium glutamate
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. Salt
Directions
Combine soy sauce, catsup, brown sugar and ginger.
Let mixture stand overnight.
Rub ribs on both sides with monosodium glutamate, sugar and salt; let stand for 3 hours.
Brush with ginger sauce; let stand for 1 hour.
Place ribs on rack in shallow baking pan.
Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes; pour off fat.
Reduce temperature to 350 degrees.
Bake for 1 hour longer or until tender, turning ribs and brushing with sauce several times.
