Oriental Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
2 tbsp (30 mL) cornstarch
1 cup (250 mL) pineapple juice or apple juice
1/4 cup (60 mL) Sake or white vermouth
2 tbsp (30 mL) soy sauce
1 tbsp (15 mL) dark brown sugar
1/4 cup (60 mL) cider vinegar
1 tbsp (15 mL) fresh ginger root, grated
Directions
Mix the cornstarch with 1/4 cup (60 mL) of the pineapple or apple juice.
Place in a large microwave-safe cup the Sake or white vermouth, the rest of the pineapple or apple juice, soy sauce, brown sugar and cider vinegar.
Microwave 5 minutes at HIGH, stir well.
Add the well-stirred cornstarch mixture and the fresh grated ginger.
Microwave 4 minutes at HIGH.
Stir well until creamy and transparent.
Taste, add salt if necessary.
Pour over cooked fish.
