Ingredients

 
2 cups granulated sugar
 
1/2 cup honey
 
1/2 cup water
 
4 large navel oranges, peeled and segmented
 
12 large strawberries, hulled
 
3 firm red apples, cored but unpeeled and cut into eighths

Directions

In saucepan, stir together sugar, honey and 1/2 cup water.
Bring to boil and continue boiling until small amount dropped into cold water forms hard ball (300°F on candy thermometer).
Fill shallow bowl with water and ice.
Spear orange segments, strawberries and apple wedges onto bamboo skewers.
Dip skewers into hot syrup, coating fruit thinly, and plunge skewered fruit into ice water.
Remove quickly and place on chilled serving plate.
