Oriental Beef Shish Kabob Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 lb beef sirloin steak | ||
| Vegetable oil | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sesame oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Granulated Sugar | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Soy sauce | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Sesame seeds | 1 Tablespoon, toasted | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), finely chopped | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Ground black pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Five spice powder | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Toasted sesame seeds | ||
Directions
1. Cut beef into 2xlx 1/4-inch (5x2.5x.5-cm) slices. Place in a glass bowl.
2. Combine vegetable oil, sesame oil, sugar, soy sauce, sesame seeds, garlic, salt, pepper and five-spice powder. Pour over meat; cover and marinate for 3 to 4 hours in refrigerator.
3. Thread meat onto wooden or metal skewers, 6 inches (15 cm) long. (Soak wooden skewers in a pan of warm water, 1 hour before using.) Barbecue, grill, or broil, turning once, about 6 minutes or until meat is medium rare.
4. Sprinkle with additional sesame seeds. Serve with Dipping Sauce.
