Oranges In Red Wine Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup dry red wine
1 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
1 cinnamon stick
2 cloves
2 or three slices of tangerine (optional)
2 slices of lemon
6 large oranges
Directions
Combine the wine, water, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, tanger ine and lemon.
Bring to a boil and simmer three minutes.
Strain and keep hot.
Meanwhile, peel the oranges and reserve the skins.
Section the oranges, keeping the segments as whole as possible.
Discard the fibrous membranes.
Drop the orange sections into the hot syrup.
Pare away the white part of the orange skins and cut the skins into very fine julienne strips.
Sprinkle the strips over the oranges in red wine; chill.
