 Candy orange slices1 Pound
 Chopped dates8 Ounce
 Chopped nuts1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Sifted flour3 1⁄2 Cup (56 tbs)
 Margarine1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Sugar2 Cup (32 tbs)
 Eggs4
 Buttermilk1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
 Soda1 Teaspoon
 Shredded coconut1 Can (10 oz)
 Confectioner’s sugar2 Cup (32 tbs)
 Orange juice1 Cup (16 tbs)

Directions

Cut candy slices into small pieces! Coat dates, candy and nuts in 1/2 cup flour; set aside.
Cream margarine with sugar; add eggs, one at a time, blending well after each addition.
Add buttermilk.
Sift remaining flour with soda; add to buttermilk mixture.
Fold in candy mixture, stirring well; add coconut.
Place in greased and floured 9-inch tube pan.
Bake for 3 hours at 250 degrees.
Leave cake in pan.
Mix sugar and juice well; pour over hot cake.
Leave cake in tube pan until cooled thoroughly.
