Orange Slice Cake Recipe
Ingredients
| Candy orange slices | 1 Pound | |
| Chopped dates | 8 Ounce | |
| Chopped nuts | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sifted flour | 3 1⁄2 Cup (56 tbs) | |
| Margarine | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 2 Cup (32 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 4 | |
| Buttermilk | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
| Soda | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Shredded coconut | 1 Can (10 oz) | |
| Confectionerâs sugar | 2 Cup (32 tbs) | |
| Orange juice | 1 Cup (16 tbs) |
Directions
Cut candy slices into small pieces! Coat dates, candy and nuts in 1/2 cup flour; set aside.
Cream margarine with sugar; add eggs, one at a time, blending well after each addition.
Add buttermilk.
Sift remaining flour with soda; add to buttermilk mixture.
Fold in candy mixture, stirring well; add coconut.
Place in greased and floured 9-inch tube pan.
Bake for 3 hours at 250 degrees.
Leave cake in pan.
Mix sugar and juice well; pour over hot cake.
Leave cake in tube pan until cooled thoroughly.
