Orange Pork Chops Recipe

4 (1-inch-thick) pork chops Salt and pepper Paprika
 
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
 
1/3 cup water
 
1/2 cup sugar
 
1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
 
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
 
1 tablespoon plus
 
1 teaspoon grated orange rind
 
1 cup orange juice
 
1 teaspoon whole cloves Hot cooked rice

Directions

Sprinkle pork chops with salt, pepper, and paprika.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat; brown pork chops on both sides.
Add water to skillet.
Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 40 to 45 minutes or until chops are tender, turning once.
Combine sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon in a medium saucepan; stir in orange rind, orange juice, and cloves.
Cook over medium heat, stirring con stantly, until thickened and bubbly.
Serve pork chops and sauce over rice.
