Orange Noodle Dessert Recipe
Ingredients
| Wide egg noodles | 1 Pound | |
| 5 or 6 navel oranges | ||
| 1/4 to 1/3 cup lightly packed brown sugar | ||
| Eggs | 5 | |
| Ground cinnamon | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Lemon juice | 1 1/2 Tablespoon | |
| Walnuts | 1 Cup (16 tbs), coarsely chopped | |
| 1/2 cup dark seedless raisins, plumped | ||
| Ground cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Butter/Margarine | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs), melted | |
Directions
Cook noodles in boiling salted water as directed on package; drain .Meanwhile, grate enough peel from the oranges to make 1 tablespoon and set aside.
Peel oranges and section them.
Toss sections with brown sugar and set mixture aside.
Put eggs, grated peel, sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, and lemon juice into a large bowl; beat well.
Mix in noodles, walnuts, and raisins.
Turn one half of the mixture evenly into a well-greased 3-quart shallow baking dish.
Spoon orange sections over first layer.
Top with remaining noodle mixture.
Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
Pour melted butter evenly over all.
Bake at 350°F 45 minutes.
Remove from oven and cool.
Cut into squares and serve with whipped dessert topping.
