Ingredients
| Sifted flour | 3 Cup (48 tbs) | |
| Active dry yeast | 1 | |
| Milk | 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs) | |
| Water | 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
| Vegetable shortening | 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Orange peel | 1 Teaspoon, grated |
Directions
Advance preparation: In mixer bowl, combine 1 3/4 cups of the flour and the yeast.
In saucepan, heat together milk, water, sugar, vegetable shortening, and salt just until warm; stir occasionally to melt vegetable shortening.
Add to dry mixture in mixer bowl; add egg and orange peel.
Beat at low speed of electric mixer for 1/2 minute; scrape sides of bowl constantly.
Beat 3 minutes at high speed.
By hand, stir in the remaining flour; mix well.
Place dough in greased bowl; turn to grease surface.
Cover; refrigerate 2 to 24 hours.
