Orange Coconut Chews Recipe

| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Orange rind | 2 Teaspoon, grated | |
| Obin hood presifted all purpose flour | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Coconut | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Dates | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped |

Directions
Melt butter in saucepan.
Remove from heat.
Stir in brown sugar.
Blend in egg, vanilla and orange rind.
Measure flour, salt and baking powder onto waxed paper.
Stir thoroughly to blend.
Stir into butter, sugar mixture.
Stir in cocoanut and dates.
Spread mixture into greased 7" x 11" baking pan.
Bake at 350° F. for 30 minutes.
When cool, cut in squares.
