Ingredients
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 (4 oz) cream cheese
2 eggs
2 tablespoons grated orange rind
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
Cream shortening, cheese and sugar together.
Add eggs, orange rind and vanilla -mix well.
Sift dry ingredients together and add, then stir in chocolate chips.
Drop from teaspoon 2" apart on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350° for 14 minutes, or until faintly brown at edges.
Cool slightly before removing from pan.
