Lemon Orange Nut Bread Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Lemon juice | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Orange rind | 1 Teaspoon, grated | |
| 1/4 teaspoon grated lemon rind | ||
| 3/4 cup coarsely cut pecan meats | ||
| Baking soda | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
| Sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Shortening | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Orange juice | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs), strained | |
Directions
Sift, then measure flour.
Sift again with soda, salt, and sugar.
Combine well-beaten egg, orange juice, lemon juice, grated rind, and melted shortening.
Add the dry ingredients, stirring only until well mixed.
Add cut nut meats.
Turn into a small sized bread tin, lined with waxed paper which has been greased.
Cover and let stand 20 minutes.
Bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees, for 1 hour.
