Ingredients

 5 slices day-old bread, toasted
 Softened butter3 Tablespoon
 Orange marmalade3/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 3 eggs, slightly beaten
 Milk1 3/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Lemon juice1 Tablespoon
 Nutmeg1/8 Teaspoon
 Cream or lemon sauce

Directions

Spread the slices of toast (do not remove crusts) with all the butter and marmalade.
Cut bread in cubes and turn into buttered 6-cup casserole.
Mix eggs with milk, lemon juice and nutmeg, and pour over the toast cubes.
Bake in a slow oven (300° F.) for 45 minutes, or until custard tests done.
Serve warm or cold, with cream or Lemon Sauce.
