Orange Lime De Luxe Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 c. botded milk, scalded, or 1/2 c. evaporated milk and 1/2 c. water, scalded | ||
| 2 eggs,. slighdy beaten | ||
| Granulated Sugar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| 1 tablesp. plain, unflavored gelatin (1 pkg.) | ||
| Orange juice | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Lime juice | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Corn syrup | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 c. light or heavy cream | ||
| Orange rind | 1 1/2 Teaspoon, grated | |
| 1 1/2 teasp. grated lemon rind | ||
Directions
Slowly stir milk into combined eggs, sugar, and salt.
Cook over hot, not boiling water, while stirring, until mixture coats spoon—about 5 or 6 min.
Soak gelatin in orange juice 5 min.
Stir into custard with lime juice and corn syrup.
Cool.
Add cream.
Freeze in a 2-qt crank freezer until difficult to turn, using 8 parts crushed ice to 1 part ice-cream salt.
When almost frozen, add grated rinds.
Finish freezing.
Serve topped with raspberries, if desired.
