Orange Icebox Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
| Soft butter | 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs) | |
| Sesame seeds | (optional) | |
| Sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Orange rind | 1 Tablespoon, grated | |
| All purpose flour | 3 Cup (48 tbs), sifted | |
| Soda | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Milk | 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
| Orange | 2 Teaspoon, extract |
Directions
Cream butter until fluffy.
Add sugar and beat together thoroughly.
Beat in egg.
Stir in orange rind.
Sift flour, soda and salt together.
Combine milk and orange extract.
Add sifted dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with milk mixture, blending well after each addition.
Shape into 2 rolls about 2 inches in diameter, wrap in waxed paper and chill several hours or overnight.
Heat oven to 375 degrees.
Slice very thin (1/8 inch) and put on greased cookie sheets.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden.
