Orange Date Balls Recipe

Directions
1. Mix chopped dates, margarine, and sugar in 3-quart casserole. Cover tightly and microwave on high (100%) 4 minutes.
2. Stir in egg and salt. Cover tightly and microwave on medium high (70%) until mixture is slightly thickened, 3 to 4 minutes.
3. Stir in orange juice, orange peel, vanilla, 1/2 cup nuts and the cracker crumbs. Let cool 10 minutes.
4. Stir in cereal. Shape into 1-inch balls with buttered hands. Roll balls in finely chopped nuts. Store in refrigerator no longer than 1 week.
