Orange Charlotte Recipe
Ingredients
| Ladyfingers | 12 | |
| Cold water | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin | ||
| Skim milk | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Honey | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 3 | |
| Orange juice | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Orange | 1 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Lightly oil sides and bottom of a 2-quart, straight-sided mold.
Line sides with Ladyfingers.
Pour cold water into a cup, and sprinkle gelatin on top.
Set aside for a few minutes to soften.
In a large saucepan, heat together milk and honey.
In a medium-size bowl, beat eggs for 1 minute.
Add 1 cup milk mixture to eggs, and stir to blend.
Pour back into milk mixture in pan, and continue to heat, stirring constantly, until mixture starts to thicken.
Stir in gelatin, heating until dissolved.
Remove from heat, and mix in orange juice and extract.
Pour into a bowl, and chill until thickened but not set, about 1 hour.
Beat until fluffy.
Turn into prepared mold, and chill until set.
