Open Face Ham And Mushroom Sandwiches Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter/Margarine | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Mushrooms | 8 Ounce, sliced | |
| Onion | 1 Small, separated into rings | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), crushed | |
| 4 thin slices fully cooked smoked ham (about 4 ounces) | ||
| 4 slices dark rye bread, toasted | ||
| 8 thin slices tomato | ||
| Shredded Cheddar cheese | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
1. Place margarine, mushrooms, onion and garlic in 1-quart casserole. Cover tightly and microwave on high 4 to 6 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes, until onion is crisp-tender.
2. Place 1 slice ham on each slice toast. Place about 1/4 of the mushroom mixture on each slice ham, using slotted spoon.
3. Arrange 2 sandwiches on paper towel-lined 10-inch plate. Microwave uncovered on high 2 minutes. Top each sandwich with 2 slices tomato; sprinkle each with 1/4 cup cheese. Microwave uncovered 30 to 60 seconds or until cheese is melted. Repeat with remaining sandwiches.
